Martin Kaler - President/Managing Partner

Martin Kaler has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and a proven ability to achieve strong growth. He graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and received his MBA from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. He grew his first compressor company from zero compressors to over 225 units from 2001 to 2007 through acquisitions and strong organic growth before selling his interest to his partners. He then joined some of his previous partners at TexStar Compression in early 2008 to grow the company from zero to 48 compressors. He purchased TexStar in April 2010 by forming a Great Texas Compression. He currently owns the largest single share in Great Texas Compression. Martin has built a robust team of experienced compression industry veterans at GTC with key employees averaging over 25 years of compression industry experience.


Abby Erwin - Accounting

Abby studied Accounting at Baylor University and received her MBA from UTSA. She works for Great Texas LLC as the lead accountant performing basic accounting and financial functions. In addition to running the Accounting department, she oversees Human Relations, pay roll, and the updating of our Safety Program.


Mark Stephens - Application & Operation Coordinator

Mark has over 30 years of experience in the Compression industry ranging from sales to operations. Mark has a vast knowledge on applications/ sizing compressors and manufacturing compressor packages.


Braxton Ward - Account Representative

Braxton graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Industrial Distribution. While attending Texas A&M he was a part of the Corps of Cadets and served as a Ross Volunteer. During his summers in college he worked for Blackbrush Oil & Gas gaining experience in the field as well as the office. Due to extreme growth, Braxton joined Great Texas LLC in March of 2013 to be the lead Account Representative and leads the GTC Safety Program.


Field Supervisors


Fernando Escamilla - Carrizo Springs Area Supervisor

Fernando started with TexStar Compression, and followed Martin with the formation of Great Texas Compression LLC in April 2010. Fernando has 8-10 years of experience as a field mechanic and Shop Supervisor. As the Carrizo Springs Supervisor he has proven to be a strong leader and valued employee.


Charlie Coffey - Rental Fleet Manager

Charlie has over 30 years of mechanical supervision. Charlie brings multiple leadership role experience from Exterran, Texstar, Flatrock and others. His experience includes a wide range of machines from 26HP up to 1000 HP. Charlie is a proven and effective leader in safety, maintenance, troubleshooting and streamlining operations. He joined the GTC team mid year 2017 and brings with him the necessary element for our sustained growth.
